THIS POSTING IS FOR FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES
Reporting to the Associate Dean, Design and Visual Arts, the incumbent develops and delivers courses in the Computer Programming program. Courses may be scheduled and delivered during the day or evening in person at Barrie Campus. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
• Delivers courses in the Computer Programming program
• Develops and delivers appropriate curriculum to meet course objectives
• Incorporates a variety of teaching / learning strategies to meet student needs
• Evaluates student progress / achievement
• Participates in program and college activities as required
• Participates in program revisions and renewal activities as required
• Creates and maintains a positive learning environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Successfully completed a diploma or degree in Computer Programming, Computer Science, or a related area
• Experience with one or more of the following: Object Oriented Programming, Client-Side JavaScript, Server-Side Scripting, PHP programming, SQL, Relational Databases, and/or Cloud Computing Services
• Knowledge of current technology and trends in programming in Canada
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster the same in their students
• Experience managing change and leading innovation
• A commitment to life-long learning
• Experience in some or all of the following is an asset: curriculum development, a variety of delivery strategies, adult learning methodologies, academic advising, and student success strategies
• Demonstrated ability to work with diverse student populations
• Computer literacy: Microsoft Office Suite
• Computer literacy with a Learning Management System / Web Delivery Software (i.e. Blackboard) and a Student Information System would be considered an asset
• Teaching and Training Adults certification and / or experience in a teaching or training capacity is an asset
Acceptable proof of education (degrees, credentials) from recognized post-secondary institutions or confirmation of international equivalencies will be required as part of the selection process.
