Located in Barrie and reporting to the Manager of International Business Development and Projects, the incumbent develops and delivers a high school level course titled "Math" in a non-credit international program. The course is scheduled and delivered in-person during the day (2-4 hours per week from February 3, 2025, to May 22, 2025). Specific duties include but are not limited to:
• Facilitating the "Math" high school level course in a non-credit international program
• Developing and delivering curriculum to meet course objectives, focusing on key topics like probability, the binomial expansion, and discrete random variables
• Giving home written assignments involving the key topics of probability, the binomial expansion, and discrete random variables
• Incorporating a variety of facilitating / learning strategies to meet student needs
• Evaluating student progress / achievement
• Participating in program and college activities as required
• Participating in program revision and renewal activities as required
• Creating and maintaining a positive learning environment
• Participating in student events (orientation and graduation)
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Successfully completed a Bachelor degree in Math or related discipline
• Minimum of 2 years high school facilitating experience (Grade 10 -12) within private and/or public sector organization
• Experience managing change and leading innovation
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to life-long learning
• Computer literacy: MS Office
• Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster the same in students
• Experience in some or all of the following is an asset: curriculum development, a variety of delivery strategies, learning methodologies, academic advising, and student success strategies
• Teaching and Training certification and / or experience in a facilitating or training capacity is an asset
Acceptable proof of education (degrees, credentials) from recognized post-secondary institutions or confirmation of international equivalencies will be required as part of the selection process.
