Reporting to the Associate Dean – Nursing program, the incumbent delivers courses in the Honours Bachelor of Science – Nursing RPN to BScN Advanced Standing Pathway (Bridge) program (HBNA) at the Orangeville campus. Courses may be scheduled and delivered during the day or evening. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
• Delivering a variety of courses in the HBNA programs: Sciences (Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology), and Nursing related courses (Pharmacology, Medical Surgical Nursing, Ethics, Research and Statistics, ect…)
• Developing and delivering appropriate curriculum to meet course objectives
• Incorporating a variety of teaching / learning strategies to meet student needs
• Evaluating student progress / achievement
• Participating in program and college activities as required
• Creating and maintaining a positive learning environment
Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s degree in nursing (or related sciences), and Master degree (Nursing or related field)
• Minimum of 5 years experience in nursing in either clinical, leadership, or post-secondary educational roles
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to life-long learning
• Computer literacy: MS Office
• Proven ability to work in a team environment and to foster the same in students
• Teaching and Training Adults certification and / or experience in a teaching or training capacity is an asset
