Reporting to the Campus Manager, the incumbent develops and delivers courses in 620E Educational Assistant apprenticeship program. Courses may be scheduled and delivered during evenings and weekends. Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
• Delivering courses in Georgian’s 620E Educational Assistant apprenticeship program
• Developing and delivering appropriate curriculum to meet course objectives
• Incorporating a variety of teaching / learning strategies to meet student needs
• Deliver course content in online and in-person modalities
• Evaluating student progress / achievement
• Travel to practicum delivery sites as required
• Participating in program and college activities as required
• Participating in program revision and renewal activities as required
• Creating and maintaining a positive learning environment
Qualifications:
We are seeking candidates with at least one of the following:
• A Diploma in Social Service Worker, Child and Youth Worker, or Educational Assistant Certificate, with a minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.
OR
• A Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Child and Youth Care, Behavioral Science, or a related discipline, with experience working directly with Educational Assistants.
Additional Assets (preferred but not required):
• Bachelor of Education or Graduate Diploma in Autism and Behavioral Science.
• Experience with Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).
• Experience facilitating online training sessions, preferably using MS Teams and Blackboard.
• Background in curriculum development, adult learning methodologies, academic advising, or student success strategies.
• Teaching and Training Adults certification or prior teaching/training experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to lifelong learning and professional development.
• Computer literacy, including proficiency in MS Office.
• Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and foster teamwork in students.
